What's a 40 something & Single girl to do - A Henna Happening Last nite I went out to a neighborhood bar and met a really cool girl. I know what you are thinking why should meeting someone cool be a surprise? Well at 40 something most of my friends are married with kids and they don't have time to go out with me much anymore. And the girlfriends I usually meet out are 20 or 30 something and we don't have that much in common. We are at different phases in our life and so it is harder for me to click with them or them with me. But last nite I met a women who was in her late 30 somethings and was at the same stage of life that I was. She had done the rat race and figured out that money and doing what others expected of you wasn't all it was cracked up to be. She was of South Asian descent and an artist. She has a very creative soul which I could totally relate to. I love creative people. After a long nite or drinking and eating we ended up at her apartment with some other of mt friends. And as we were sitting there chatting she pulled out some Henna that she got from Vancouver and drew a cool design on my palm. Here are some pictures of how it looked: ![]() ![]() ![]() How cool is that? ^^^^^^^ The lighter orange sections are where the hardened henna had flaked off and left an henna stain on my palm. I always wanted to have it done. Now that I have, I want to have it done again and again. Labels: Art, Design, Henna, South Asian Sunday, September 2, 2007→2:47 AM |
