I had to take the path train to the World Train
Center the other day. The route the train takes to get into the station takes a circular route around the empty hole that was the World Trade Center. While walking thru the renovated sections of the station, these words came to me:

We walk thru the maze of destruction reverently

Hushed by our memories of the tragedy

In deference to those whose ashes we walk upon

Surrounded by love in art form

I come up to the surface

To civilization

A taxi honks loudly and zooms past me
